First Book of The New Year!

I finished my first book of the new year! It was a Star Trek novel I had been putting off reading, since I wanted to save it for the new year. I liked it, it was a very slow build and a little heavy handed at times, but still enjoyable. I wouldn't say it was my favourite Trek novel so far, those still go to the McCoy novels, but it was nice to visit with The Next Generation. One funny thing, there are these sacred birds in the novel, and I kept picturing them looking like a cassowary, only kiwi sized. The problem is, that is not how the are described, they are supposed to have no necks, but no matter how hard I tried, that is just how I pictured them in my head.

Anyways, this fulfills the the Movie/TV Tie-in square for my book bingp.

I read so many TNG books last year that they all kind of blended together and I can't remember the details of most of them, but I remember really liking Exiles. Weinstein is a solid writer and I usually like his books. I'm actually reading his first Star Trek novel, a TOS book called Covenant of the Crown right now.

Have you read Doctor's Orders yet? It's a great McCoy-centric novel.
