June Already?
Hey, I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Things have been a little crazy in real life lately. My brother was in hospital for a week in April and I've spent the last few weeks taking him to multiple appointments.
My brother has an infection in his leg, which none of the doctors can agree on why or how he got it. My brother is diabetic so foot and leg infections are kind of a big deal. He was on intravenous antibiotics for a week in hospital, and then switched over to pills once he got home, although the antibiotics have been changed because he seemed to be resistant to the first type. He had all these blisters/wounds over his leg, all of which have since healed, expect for one on his upper calf that is being very stubborn and just will not heal fully. His leg is still red and swollen, although he is better than what he was in the hospital. We have a follow-up in couple of weeks, so we'll see if he has been gotten any better by then.
At the same time that's been going on we've been trying to look for a new house because we're going to probably be forced to move by the end of the year, because that bastard Doug Ford is going to build a highway through our house! Looking at houses is so hard, because we have very specific needs, my mother uses a walker now so we are looking for a bungalow or, failing that, a house that has a bedroom on the main floor. We thought we had found the right house, but then the house inspections came back and the place was going to need like at least $100,000 in repairs, some of which we're big ticket items like a whole new septic system, so we decided to pass. We weren't completely in love with the place to begin with, so when we got the reports we took it as a sign that it wasn't the right house for us.
Anyways, life has been hectic and it feels like April and May just slipped away.

Best of luck with that - and I hope your brother's leg will make a full recovery as soon as possible.
Now it's obviously just virtual, but can I tempt you to tea and cookies? And/or would you like a hug? You do sound like you really, really deserve a little rest in between of handling all of this. <3

Ugh, house hunting D: Do Canadian laws require them to compensate you when they use eminent domain to take your house?

The government does have to pay the landowners when they expropriate the land. We actually sold our home to a neighbour a couple of years ago, and he was perfectly happy to have us living in the house as long as we wanted. We really thought we were going to have a lot more time, because building highways can take years sometimes even decades, but Doug Ford is determined to push through as soon as possible.

The house hunt sounds like a pain. Good luck finding something that will work for your family!

I'm sorry you're having to deal with this all at once, but I hope your house hunt goes well.
