Challenge #12 Create a Rec Countdown.

5 (actually 7) Vids You should check out! (all vids contain spoilers)

(Granada Sherlock Holmes) Great vid about the Holmes/Watson relationship, but also the trauma surrounding Moriarty and Reichenbach Falls:

(Hunger Games) Wonderful vid about Katniss and the trauma she experienced in all three films:

(Star Trek) If you've been in Trek fandom for awhile I'm sure you've heard of the infamous Tarsus IV, this vid does a fantastic job imagining it. It's AOS Kirk, and Pine is older than Kirk would have been, but the vidder really made it work:

(IWTV) Fantastic character study of Claudia, and how she never really fits:

(Dead Boy Detectives) Wonderful look at Edwin and Charles and the trauma they carry:

(Doctor Who) Fantastic encapsulation of the Twelve/Missy relationship, and the song fits them perfectly:

(Disney) Because all my other vid recs are basically about trauma, please enjoy sapphic princesses falling in love as a palette cleanser:

4 fics for your reading pleasure

The Case Of The Stolen Doctor
by flawedamythyst
Fandom: Sherlock Holmes (Books)
Pairing: Holmes/Watson
Rating: T
Word Count: 47k
Summary: Moriarty kidnaps Watson.
Notes: Watson is kidnapped by Moriarty and Holmes is desperate to find him. Moriarty was actually somewhat menacing in this one. It is a great casefic, where Holmes has a very short window of time to rescue Watson. It would say this more pre-slash then slash, but I enjoyed immensely.

Particular Peculiarity by saavik13
Fandom: Sherlock Holmes (Granada)
Pairing: Holmes/Watson
Rating: M
Word Count: 43k
Summary: “How high is your regard for me, Watson?” He asked abruptly, his eyes still trained on the fire. “If I were to confess my darkest secret would you leave? Would you abandon me here to my melancholy?”
A case forces Holmes to reveal the truth to Watson and risks both their reputations and their liberty. Just how understanding is John Watson?
Notes: First half of this fic is casefic, where we get both BAMF Watson and Mycroft because Holmes is in danger. This fic has a conflicted Watson wondering how far he is willing to go to protect Holmes. The second half of the fic is these two trying to figure out what they mean to each other.

two truths and a liar by andrealyn
Fandom: IWTV
Pairing: Armand/Daniel
Rating: M
Word Count: 10k
Summary: Facing down the press junket for his book, Daniel Molloy is prepared to hype up his hit novel. He's less prepared to have Armand crash the tour to play bodyguard and doting assistant and he's definitely not ready to have his secrets spilled on a world stage because Armand wants to play games.
The longer he sticks around to torment Daniel as he chases him across the country, the longer he stays. So, who's really winning this game
Notes: Armand joins Daniel on his press tour for the book, which raises a lot of eyebrows and questions, and includes some delightful bickering.

unexpected places by LadyCrimsonAndBlack
Fandom: Dead Boy Detectives
Pairing: Edwin/Charles
Rating: G
Word Count: 2k
Summary: When Edwin finally climbs up from Hell, he’s not terribly surprised that he resurfaces in the same basement he died in.
(Or, after fleeing from Hell, Edwin is, for the first time in seventy years, without a goal. And then he meets a dying boy in an attic.)
Notes: A lovely little addition to the backstory to the boys' first meeting.

3 TV shows if you're looking for something to watch:

Granada's version of Sherlock Holmes, I gush about it in this post.

Dead Boy Detectives, I have a primer here.

Last but not least, Good Omens. Do you want to watch an angel and demon slowly fall in love over 6000 years? I bet you do! The first season can be watched on it's own and it's contained story, but I did enjoy season 2 because it gives us more Aziraphale/Crowley goodness.

2 songs to listen to:

Because Dancing Costs Money by Mitski, if I ever make a Holmes/Watson playlist this will be the first song I will be adding:

Do You? by Rebecca Black, if you only know Rebecca Black from that song she made at 13, please check out her music as an adult it's worth it:

1 (actually 2) video to make you laugh:

Every book reader knows this pain:

The only canonical Holmes/Watson we might ever get:
